Primarily, these babies are meant for an end user who doesn't have a sub, or doesn't have room for a sub or its wires, and last but not least for purposes of presentation in which a sub would be too cumbersome to be portable. Klipsch designed these satellites for a specific reason, one that serves several purposes. Haven't we by definition moved beyond 2.0? Not so. Now you may ask yourself why 2.0 now? We already have 2.1 and the lot. Of course this may not always be possible.

From a fidelity standpoint, I prefer placing the Ultra 2.0 as close to a wall as possible for optimal results. So if you are like me and hate to read the manual, you'd set them up like that, right? Wrong! The manual clearly states the speaker with the controls is set up on the right facing side. Note: the front and the back of the manual depicts a drawing of the Ultra 2.0 with the volume control and aux input speaker on the left-facing side. The set up is as straightforward as any other satellite speaker system: position the two speakers, plug in the power supply, connect one speaker to another via an RCA connector, and plug in the source either from a PC sound card or an auxiliary source, and you're good to go.
